Hybrid cloud networking

• Architected the organization's new hybrid cloud networking solution based on Azure Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, and Telenor Secure Cloud Connect under Stø MCA ownership.

• Implemented the complete multi-region topology with separate ExpressRoute circuits per region and environment for strict prod/non-prod traffic isolation, fully private connectivity with no public internet exposure, improved high availability and disaster recovery.

• Planned and executed a phased, per-team and per-environment migration of 39 VNets across 10 product teams, coordinating routing changes with the carrier and on-premises providers and optimizing cutover downtime to ~7 minutes.

Private cross-tenant global connectivity

• Enabled private connectivity from a customer's tenant in Brazil to a Norwegian on-premises data center over the Azure backbone and ExpressRoute, supporting a major new customer contract.

• Analyzed and optimized end-to-end latency, using a connection-reuse reverse-proxy (TLS 1.3 0-RTT early data with pre-shared keys) design to minimize cold start frequency and handshake latency cost.

Operator access

• Development on an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solution providing product teams secure, controlled access to critical production environments.

Kubernetes upgrade automation

• Automated Kubernetes version upgrades across 35 single-tenancy fleet-managed AKS clusters.

• Evaluates each environment's current version, selects the next supported version, and creates phased upgrade PRs in lab → dev → test → prod for review.

Backend development using .NET Core and C#. The project involved setting up a REST API used for accessing database metadata and statistics. The application had to be modular and support multiple relational database types. Performance optimization was an important aspect of the project. We implemented threads that updated a cache with data continuously. When a client sent a request, the application could fetch the data from cache instead of a potentially slow request to the database.

Implementation of autonomous control on a boat modelled after Yara Birkeland which was equipped with various sensors from Kongsberg Gruppen. If there were obstacles on collision course, the boat would detect and classify these, and then autonomously generate a new route to pass the objects in accordance with the maritime rules. I had the main responsibility for detection and classification in real-time using a dedicated camera. The detection and classification algorithms were implemented using TensorFlow and Python.
